DEV01 Device Cannot Be Processed
FDMS cannot process the request for this device — most often an expired or invalid certificate, or a device ZIMRA has switched to Offline mode.
This code comes from ZIMRA. FDMS validated the receipt and refused it.
Why It Happens
Every receipt is signed with the device's own certificate, and ZIMRA issues those with an expiry. Once it lapses, FDMS stops accepting anything from the device. The other cause is ZIMRA having moved the device into Offline mode, in which case receipts must be batched rather than sent live.
What FDMS Is Checking
The device certificate is valid and the device is active.
What ThatFiscal Does About It
ThatFiscal watches the certificate expiry and warns before it lapses rather than after. Renewal is one click and your keys are unchanged.
How to Fix It
- Portal → Devices → the device card shows Renew Certificate. One click.
- If ZIMRA has the device in Offline mode, ask us to enable offline batch submission for it.
- Resend the held invoices once the device is live again — nothing is lost while it is down.
Not Using ThatFiscal Yet?
ThatFiscal is a cloud virtual fiscal device for Zimbabwe. It catches most of these before anything reaches ZIMRA, so you see a message instead of a refused receipt on your record. No hardware to buy.
