RCPT025 Tax Rate Not Registered for This Device
A tax rate or tax ID that your device is not registered for.
This code comes from ZIMRA. FDMS validated the receipt and refused it.
Why It Happens
Your device is registered with ZIMRA for a specific set of tax rates — typically 15.5% VAT, zero-rated and exempt. Anything outside that set is refused, and so is a line that arrives with no rate at all, because FDMS cannot infer one.
What FDMS Is Checking
Every line's taxID and taxPercent appear in the device's applicableTaxes.
What ThatFiscal Does About It
ThatFiscal resolves each line against your device's registered taxes before building the receipt and refuses it locally with a plain message if it cannot, so a bad rate does not become a rejected receipt on your ZIMRA record.
How to Fix It
- Check Portal → Devices for the rates this device is registered for.
- The usual cause is a QuickBooks or Zoho line that arrived with no tax at all — set a tax on the product in the source system.
- If you need a rate the device is not registered for, that is a ZIMRA change, not a setting here. Contact us and we will arrange it.

Not Using ThatFiscal Yet?
ThatFiscal is a cloud virtual fiscal device for Zimbabwe. It catches most of these before anything reaches ZIMRA, so you see a message instead of a refused receipt on your record. No hardware to buy.
