FISCAL_DAY Fiscal Day Blocked
The fiscal day could not be opened, or is in a state that blocks new receipts.
This code comes from ZIMRA. FDMS validated the receipt and refused it.
Why It Happens
Receipts belong to a fiscal day, and a day has to be open to accept them. A day cannot open while the previous one is unclosed, and a day cannot close while receipts submitted in it are still unaccepted — those are the blocking receipts.
What FDMS Is Checking
There is an open fiscal day, and it is not past the device's maximum day length.
What ThatFiscal Does About It
ThatFiscal opens the day for you on the first sale, rolls it over when it reaches the device's own limit rather than stopping the till, and adopts a day ZIMRA already has open instead of fighting it.
How to Fix It
- Open the device card and look at blocking receipts. Clear each one — fix the cause and resend.
- Close the day, which files the Z-report, then carry on. See Close the Day & Read Your Z-Report.
Not Using ThatFiscal Yet?
ThatFiscal is a cloud virtual fiscal device for Zimbabwe. It catches most of these before anything reaches ZIMRA, so you see a message instead of a refused receipt on your record. No hardware to buy.
