RCPT014 Receipt Date Before the Fiscal Day Opened

The receipt date is earlier than the fiscal day opening. Yellow — accepted, but flagged.

This code comes from ZIMRA. FDMS validated the receipt and refused it.

Why It Happens

A receipt cannot predate the day it belongs to. Unlike most codes here this one is a yellow validation: FDMS accepts the receipt and records the objection, so the sale stands but the record carries a flag.

What FDMS Is Checking

receiptDate is not earlier than the fiscal day's opening timestamp.

What ThatFiscal Does About It

Same as RCPT030 — the submission time is stamped rather than taken from a date-only field.

How to Fix It

  1. Nothing to reverse: the receipt was accepted.
  2. Stop the source of the old timestamp so it does not recur — usually a hand-built API payload carrying yesterday's date.

Often seen with: RCPT030.
